The construction technology course will introduce the student to carpentry skills, use of measuring instruments, base hand and power tools.  ACE students will be introduced to wood and metal framing, plumbing, electrical installations, roofing, dry wall hanging and taping, ceramic tile and safety procedures.  WIth a strong emphasis on hands-on activities and practical application of academic standards, particulalry math skills, the goal is to reinforce academic performance while at the same time offer students a choice of career pathways to future employment.


Award-Winning Instruction

Mike Zeke, A.C.E. Academy Construction Instructor, received the "Faculty of the Year" from the ACE Mentor Program Board of Directors for Los Angeles and Orange Counties.  This NATIONAL program, separate from our A.C.E. Academy, chose Mike as an individual who has consistently demonstrated an exemplary commitment to cultivating the next generation of designers and builders.  Mike was honored at a Gala Reception at the ACE Spotlight Awards at the historical "California Club" in Los Angeles on Feb 28, 2013. Many of Mr. Zekes graduates are holding skilled and leadership postions in industry - he is especially proud when students return with thanks for what they ahve learned and for the value of that learning to employers!


The ACE Academy provides students with state-of-the-art computer software that supports classroom instruction.  Students participate in local building projects and state building competitions.  Each year, students participate in a large-scale integrated project that benefits the school or the community.  With a focus on Green Building, students will learn how the building industry can be environmentally consious by recycling/resuing material and using energy-saving, environmentally-safe products during construction.
